Automatic Screw Press

Efficient and Compact Design for Automatic Dewatering

The SCRUPRESS® is an advanced screw press designed for automatic dewatering, featuring a compact and efficient design. This innovative system is composed of an inclined three-stage wedge wire drum—draining, thickening, and dewatering—combined with a special conical screw and a pneumatic counter-pressure cone at the discharge end.

Key Features and Benefits
  • Automated Operation: Fully automatic and controlled by a PLC to ensure consistent performance.
  • Optimized Dewatering: The pneumatic counter-pressure cone fine-tunes the dewatering action, while the variable frequency drive (VFD) automatically adjusts the screw speed to maintain optimal performance, even with variations in sludge concentration.
  • Efficient Cleaning: A movable washing ring with water-saving spray nozzles and a special rubber wiper ensures the drum remains clean both inside and out, maximizing filter permeability.

The SCRUPRESS® delivers reliable and efficient dewatering for a variety of sludge types, making it a valuable solution for municipal and industrial applications.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

  • Municipal wastewater
  • Industrial wastewater
  • Food and beverage,
  • Dairy farms and slaughterhouses
  • Wineries and breweries
  • DAF sludge
  • Chemical industry
  • Paper mill
  • Drinking water, river and lake water
  • Ground water remediation
  • Oil sludge

MAIN ADVANTAGES:

  • Wedge wire reliable technology
  • Compact three-stage solution: draining, thickening and dewatering
  • Fully Automatic
  • Low washing water consumption
STAGE 01 DRAINING

When the flocculated sludge enters the screw press, the liquid fraction is immediately separated in the first draining wedge wire section. This section features a 0.5 mm spacing, allowing for efficient and rapid removal of excess liquid, optimizing the initial dewatering process.

STAGE 02 THICKENING

In the second stage, the sludge undergoes progressive and gentle compression against the wedge wire surface, gradually increasing its thickness. This section features a 0.4 mm spacing, ensuring precise thickening and preparing the sludge for the final dewatering phase.

STAGE 03 DEWATERING

In the final stage of the screw press dewatering process, the sludge is subjected to intense compression. With a 0.15 mm wedge wire spacing and the application of a counter-pressure cone, the sludge achieves exceptional dryness levels, ensuring efficient dewatering and optimal results.

MACHINE BODY

The SCRUPRESS® features a fully encapsulated and odourless design, equipped with a cylinder for air extraction to ensure a clean and efficient operation. The screw press includes multiple side doors and covers for easy inspection and maintenance. Additionally, the entire machine body operates at a low noise level of <70 dB (A), providing a quiet and user-friendly experience.

DEWATERING DRUM WITH CONICAL SCREW

The TEKNOFANGHI screw press features a fixed drum with a conical screw inside, offering a highly reliable dewatering solution. Maintenance is simplified, as only the gasket on the screw spiral requires replacement. The system ensures minimal wear and vibrations, thanks to the low compaction screw speed of <2.7 rpm, providing durability and efficiency in operation.

SCREW PRESS PRESSURE CONE

The screw press features a pneumatically controlled pressure cone designed to efficiently press the sludge transported by the auger. This innovative system ensures consistent dewatering performance while maintaining low energy consumption, making it more efficient compared to traditional dewatering technologies.

SCREW PRESS WASHING RING

The screw press is designed for low water consumption during washing, thanks to a moving ring that slides bidirectionally along the drum. Equipped with 360° nozzles, it ensures thorough external cleaning only where needed. Internally, the drum is self-cleaning due to a special rubber gasket positioned between the drum and the internal auger, maintaining optimal performance and reducing maintenance needs.

CONTROL PANEL WITH PLC

The control panel is equipped with an advanced PLC that communicates seamlessly with a pressure sensor and a variable frequency drive (VFD). This system dynamically regulates the speed of the screw inside the drum, ensuring consistent and efficient operation. The result is optimal dry solids content, delivering superior dewatering performance even under varying sludge conditions.
